Multiplication in Daily Life

Today I used multiplication to figure out how many pencils I would have if I bought 5 packs. Each pack had 12 pencils. I figured out that 5 X 12 would equal 60. So I would have 60 pencils total. This saved time because I would have had to count each pencil individually if I hadn't multiplied.
